When developing our GC8 MY99 - MY00 Subaru WRX/STI Top Mounted Intercooler (TMIC), the goal was to make it the very best aftermarket top mounted intercooler of its kind!
We studied our competitors products and fixed all of the mistakes they have made, and some of them were major. The most obvious error that EVERY one of our competitors makes is not supplying their intercooler with proper ducting/shrouding to suit the increased size of the new intercooler. There is no point in installing a larger intercooler and leaving the factory under bonnet splitter/shroud in place. Process West created the solution. A properly sized under bonnet splitter/shroud to suit the application. The Process West intercooler and splitter combination provides 100% of the new larger intercooler with full ambient airflow over the entire core.
The dimensions of the intercooler core are 175mm high x 490mm wide x 90mm thick. These dimensions make it by far the largest TMIC on the market for the GC8. Combine the intercooler with the under bonnet shroud/splitter and it is most definitely the very best intercooler option available.

Ground-Up Performance Engineering.
Our designs all follow a similar path. We remove the stock cooler and 3D scan the engine bay to determine the precise constraints of the available space. Once we know what we’re working with, we generate functional renders and finalise form, function, and fitment.
Following our digital models, we generate 3D printed prototypes for further, real-world confirmation of size, fitment, and installation ease. When our prototype is perfect, it's on to manufacturing.
