The Process West Verticooler is a revolutionary departure from traditional intercooler design. By rethinking the mounting angle and airflow path, the Verticooler delivers a level of cooling efficiency and engine durability previously unseen in the Subaru aftermarket.

The Problem: The "Traffic Jam" effect

Stock top-mount intercoolers (TMIC) suffer from a lack of exit airflow. Computer modeling shows that once air passes through a factory-style core, it hits the engine block and creates a "traffic jam" of hot air. This trapped heat leads to rapid heat soak, significantly reducing performance during spirited driving.

The Solution: Verticooler Technology

The Verticooler system solves the heat soak issue by mounting the core at a 15-degree, near-vertical angle. This unique orientation provides several key advantages:

Optimised Exit Path: Heated air is forced down through the engine bay and out through the transmission tunnel, creating a low-restriction path that keeps the core cool.

Massive Core Volume: Featuring the largest volume of any aftermarket intercooler for this platform, the core measures 400mm x 205mm x 120mm.

High-Velocity Ducting: Includes a vehicle-specific under-hood duct that force-feeds fresh air directly into the intercooler fins.

Ground-Up Performance Engineering.

Our designs all follow a similar path. We remove the stock cooler and 3D scan the engine bay to determine the precise constraints of the available space. Once we know what we’re working with, we generate functional renders and finalise form, function, and fitment.

Following our digital models, we generate 3D printed prototypes for further, real-world confirmation of size, fitment, and installation ease. When our prototype is perfect, it's on to manufacturing.
